Sharpe James (born Febuary 20th, 1936) was the 35th mayor of Newark, New Jersey and a violent, smug corrupt crook.
He is a Democrat.
His villainary is best documented in the Street Fight, a documentary about Cory Booker's unsuccessful first run against Sharpe James.
In the documentary, Sharpe tends to make a lot of lies. He also has a reputation for allowing his guards to openly attack cameramen wanting to ask questions.
He also indulged in censorship. When New Jersey Drive was being filmed in 1994 (which would come out the next year), James banned any filming of the movie on city premises, out of fear it would make him look bad.
